What Did Students Do?
This week, students wrote a piece to accompany their hand art connected to the topic of community. They considered these questions: What does community mean to me? What communities am I a part of? How do I feel when I am in these communities? What do I bring to these communities? They brainstormed their ideas in a graphic organizer prior to writing. Then, students wrote their jot notes into sentences. The students' writing reflects the importance of community and the positive impact this has on them as well as their impact on the people in these groupings.
Your child will share this writing and art with you during Meet the Teacher night, next Thursday, September 18th from 3:30-6:00pm. We look forward to seeing you! Check out a sample of work below.
