June 15-19 Learning Outcomes English Language Arts and Literature Students construct meaning from a variety of texts by making connections, identifying important ideas, and demonstrating understanding. Students create and communicate responses to texts in a variety of ways for different purposes and audiences. What Did Students Do? This week, our Grade 5 students celebrated the completion of their guided reading books by demonstrating their understanding in creative and meaningful ways. Rather than completing the same assignment, students were given the opportunity to choose from nine different project options to show their learning and comprehension of their novel. The choice board allowed students to select a task that best matched their interests and strengths while still demonstrating their understanding of important elements from their book.
