April 20 - 23 Learning Outcomes Art Students will refine methods and techniques for more effortless image making. What Did Students Do? This week, our Grade 5 students worked hard to create beautiful artwork in preparation for our upcoming Volunteer Tea. Inspired by the work of Vincent van Gogh , students explored a Post-Impressionist style while creating their own iris paintings using oil pastels and watercolours. Throughout the project, students focused on refining their methods and techniques for more effortless image making . They learned how to thoughtfully plan their composition, use bold colour choices, and apply line to create emphasis and detail. By layering oil pastel and watercolour, students experimented with different techniques to bring their artwork to life while expressing emotion and creativity.
